The purpose of this blog is to share positive reinforcement dog training techniques. My goal is to demonstrate that positive reinforcement training can be used to quickly and effectively shape behaviors and provide the foundation for a lifelong bond that pays dividends in the years to come.
I believe that it is our responsibility as pup parents to teach our dogs in the most positive way possible. We can accomplish this by rewarding desirable behaviors and ignoring or redirecting unwanted behaviors. By focusing on the positive we build a strong bond with our canine companions. It is this bond that, in my opinion, makes dog ownership so special.
About me
Hey there fellow dog lover! My name is Donna. I am a positive reinforcement dog trainer who has had a passion for dogs and dog training since the age of 10.
Soon after I turned 10 years old my family adopted a black lab named Midnight. She taught me a lot about what it means to be a pet owner and what having pets can do for us.
Midnight was my best friend and an amazing influence on me. She showed me that when you give a dog love they will give you more than you could ever imagine. This is what I want to share with others. I believe that dogs can be our best friends and an important part of the family.
Since the passing of Midnight we have taken in her best friend, a lovable mutt named Cody. He is a rescue with an unknown rocky past that has resulted in him being afraid of his own shadow, but we are working every day to build up his confidence. He repays us constantly with lots of love and laughs.
